Wild West Bus Roadeo
About the Wild West Bus Roadeo
The Wild West Bus Roadeo is dedicated to promoting Public Safety on Nevada's roads.
Do you recall your first driving test, carefully maneuvering through pylons and narrow alleys, trying your patience and skills? Now, imagine doing the same in an eighteen ton, or greater, forty-plus feet long vehicle. Tighten the course for competition and add a few more difficult maneuvers then set a time limit and you get an idea of what a Roadeo is all about.
Roadeos, that's R-O-A-D-E-O, are safety and skill events that are hosted by public agencies, such as the American Public Transporation Association, Regional Transportation Commission, Washoe County School District and private trucking companies.
ELIGIBILITY
- Must have a valid commercial driver's license and necessary endorsements for the vehicle you are driving;
- Must have a valid DOT physical;
- Your company must provide a certificate of insurance liability and hold harmless agreement;
- No history of driving under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol within the previous fifteen years.
The highest scoring driver employed by RTC RIDE/MV Transportation, Inc., who meets all the required criteria, will be competing in the International Bus Roadeo, hosted in various cities each year by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). In 2012, the International Bus Roadeo will be held in Long Beach, California, May 4-8, 2012.
